A 65 year-old Spanaway, Washington (just outside of Tacoma) woman has died today from her injuries from two pit-bulls. Nga Woodhead died from a heart attack which may have been related to her injuries which included a broken arm and lacerations. Police are waiting confirmation by autopsy that the injuries were related to the dog attacks.
Police say the woman went through surgery to have a titanium rod placed in her arm. She was just about to be released from St. Joseph's Hospital when she collapsed from a heart attack.
She was attacked October 30th while on her daily walk. It took three men to fend the dogs off of her after they also suffered bites leading one man to shoot one of them, which ran away. A witness, Alana Hall, described the scene, "One dog was hanging onto one person's arm and then onto one person's leg." Police tracked down both dogs and shot both of them.
The owner of the dogs, Santiago Quezada, does not know how the dogs got out of his fenced yard.
