“Why, would a minor underworld figure, like Jack Ruby silence Oswald before he could talk?”...............That is THE question.
My take on it from ‘reliable’ sources,....revenge for the Bay of Pigs slaughter. Gave his word he’d help, and at the last minute turned his back - and let them get slaughtered.
My theory - and it is just that, a theory, is that the Mob hit JFK with a little inside help from the CIA and possibly the FBI.
The Kennedys turned on the Mob after the Mob helped get JFK elected (Illinois, West Virginia primary). The Mob depended on JFK to help them get back into the Cuban casinos (Nixon may have been willing as well seeing as Bay of Pigs started on his watch).
The Mob helped train Cuban expats along with Mob hit men at CIA camps in Florida and Louisiana. When Bay of Pigs went bad fast and Kennedy turned yellow on the issue of support, he turned the Mob against him and may have been on borrowed time.
When Bobby started going after the Mob hard and high profile, he sealed big brother’s death. After all, kill Bobby and JFK brings the weight of the government down on the mob. Kill JFK and Bobby gets sacked by LBJ who absolutely loathed Bobby.
The CIA put Oswald into the picture. The mob put Ruby in to silence Oswald.
Again, JUST a theory. I have ZERO evidence on any of this.
But elements within the CIA and other INTEL organization felt betrayed by JFK, from the Bay Of Pigs fiasco, not the young punk Oswald.
The Mob would go through the effort to kill Oswald who was supposedly a Communist? It does not make sense.
Apparently Oswald did everything in his power to restrain himself before he could figure out what his real position was and what he needed to do. He was never given the chance. He did not blow his cover, even after 3 days. He was waiting for something or someone to (as he requested) “...come forward and provide consul”, which they never did.
Ruby had the last option and was ordered to “rub out” Oswald, which he did.
The Communist allegations were a cover.
Why was he filmed early on, passing out “”Hands off Cuba Committee” leaflets a year before in New Orleans? It was a rouse.
