I just read the notes that Gov. Connely’s wife Nelly wrote about that evening. She said they came from San Antonio to Houston for a dinner and then went to Ft Worth where they spent the night and then on to Dallas.

I distinctly remember that in her later years, after John Connely died she talked about suspecting LBJ

I had also heard or read that Jackie Kennedy blamed LBJ for the killing.

I think that might have been simply from the fact that she didn’t like LBJ and thought he was a trashy boor.
