The ENDA Bill is one that strips Catholics and Christians of their Religious Freedom. Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana is one who has helped pass this Anti-Catholic/Anti-Christian Bill.
Below is info on the Bill and articles about it:
From LifeSiteNews.com:
[Excerpt] by Ben Johnson Tue Nov 05, 2013 13:14 EST WASHINGTON, D.C., November 4, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) A bill to forbid discrimination against homosexuals and transgender employees could punish those who hold to traditional views about sexuality and biology, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) warns. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) would penalize employers accused of discriminating against gay, bisexual, or transgender employees. But the Catholic bishops and other Christian critics of the bill say its enforcement could go well beyond opening doors to hard-working and aggrieved workers. [Excerpt] by Ben Johnson Mon Nov 04, 2013 21:28 EST WASHINGTON, D.C., November 4, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) A bill that would make it a federal crime to discriminate against homosexuals, bisexuals, and transgender people including forbidding men to use the women's restroom or locker room passed a key vote in the Senate today. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed a test vote by 61-30, a critical margin that will allow the controversial bill to overcome any potential filibuster. Senate rules require 60 votes to cut off debate. The vote means the bill will almost certainly pass the full Senate without delay. Opponents say the bill (S. 815) would deny traditional religious business owners the right to practice their religion. Its religious exemption is excessively narrow, according to a letter from the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops. ENDA would prohibit employers from making employment decisions on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. It is misleadingly labeled as a logical extension of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. While the Civil Rights Act was enacted primarily to protect the rights of racial minorities, ENDA is aimed at providing special protections for "sexual orientation" (which includes voluntary homosexual conduct) and "gender identity" (referring not to one's biological sex, but to "the gender-related identity, appearance, or mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, with or without regard to the individual's designated sex at birth"). The "gender identity" provision would protect anyone who is "transgendered," a broad umbrella term that includes transsexuals (people who have had sex-change surgery), anyone who has changed or is changing their public "gender identity" (regardless of whether they have had surgery or hormone treatments), transvestites (people who dress as the opposite sex on an occasional basis for emotional or sexual gratification), and drag queens and drag kings (people who dress as the opposite sex for the purpose of entertaining others). ENDA should be opposed by anyone who believes in freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of conscience and religion, and a free market economy.
