No, but you implied that the law was passed because the public (whatever that meant) supported it, when in fact the public did not support it. Any law will be supported by 33%, but we are a republic not a democracy, remember? Even with 80% against it, your representatives, by definition (of a republican political system) wiser than their voters, would have passed it. That points to a different problem that you state above.

My title doesn't really capture the point of the article, which was that laws were broken by willful misrepresentation, and that a lawsuit should be filed.

I have no idea where my brain went when I wrote this title. Ugg.
