Long story.
Short version, I was working in Eglin AFB Tower when the shooting of the movie
Air Force One was shot and I was supervising the tower during the two weeks they were there.
The director, after getting permission to use our alternate Tower on King's Hanger, asked me if we had any ideas.
I told him yes, but not now.
I told him I wrote occasionally on Free Republic and gave him my pen name.
During Dec 2003, someone asked me on FR if we had any ideas for commercials.
After a few responses on the topic we were discussing, I responded to him if he was serious.
He said yes, so I said "Fire William Shatner" , and the conversation continued on Free Republic until I had described all three commercials.
A few months later, I saw them on the air.
