I suspect that most here have seen "Overhaulin" and likely are regular fans of the show. When a person goes on a quiz show, like "The Price is Right" and wins, the get a 1099 from the show for the value of the prizes. Do the owners of the cars that are overhauled also get one? I mean, the value of some of those make-overs has to be will over $100k...that's a pretty steep tax bill for some of these folks to handle.
Well, speaking of taxes, after visiting the website of this company and reading their ad copy, I have to say that the entire marketing approach makes me wonder how they were funded. I’m thinking Obama stash. They’re a little too proud of Detroit, for starters. The strained use of ultra deee-luxe words rings a little ghetto fabulous, too.
More than likely treated as a gift. A donation of time/parts/labor to the recipient.
There was a movie, years ago, about a group that took a school bus engine, and put it in a car for a race. I cannot remember the name of that movie, so I suppose I should just google it, but that’s not half as much fun when I finally remember!
