Word For The Day, October 29, 2013
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
zeitgeber [tsahyt-gey-ber]
-n
an environmental cue, as the length of daylight or the degree of temperature, that helps to regulate the cycles of an organism's biological clock.
[197075; < German (1954), literally, time-giver, on the model of Taktgeber an electronic synchronization device]
yes, by GOD you are free to be a lecherous pervert!
I saw a fox crossing the road while I was driving here today. I thought it was a small groundhog at first, but then it was way too nimble. And not the right color.
There was one in my yard last night when I drove up!
and the pedophile down the street reserves his right to ogle your daughter once she grows boobs too!
Spring forward
Fall back

You paying that vet with your own money, right? No third party payer. So they act like they appreciate your business.
Funny how that works.
i wish this one would relocate! he has been living here for about 5-6 years now! or his relatives at least. their cry is bloodcurdling.
Squirrels, amirite?
yes. i understand that docs who don’t take insurance act the same way towards their patients.
I am probably going to get pet insurance for the next dog.
if you do that, i would be interested in hearing how that works out. we have spent a ton of $ on Chanel in the past few months. it was $594 for her day at the vet last monday from 8-3pm. meds are about $220.
Rush Limbaugh talks about how Obama manages to escape responsibility for anything and everything that happens under his watch, with the latest excuses based upon the “He didn’t know about it” meme. With apologies to the late Sam Cooke, I rewrote the lyrics to “What a Wonderful World,” to be sung by our Fearless Leader.
Don’t know much about Obamacare
Don’t know why we weren’t ready there
Don’t know much about the IRS
And who they targeted, I couldn’t guess
But socialism, baby I love you
And I know that if you’d love it, too
What a wonderful world this would be
Don’t know much about geography
Dont know Libya or Benghazi
Don’t know much about algebra
Don’t know what walking guns is for
But I do know, one and one is two
And if, Alinsky, I could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be
Now I sure claim to be an ‘A student’
But it’s hard to see
For maybe if I were an ‘A student’, baby
I could fix this economy
Don’t know much of Fast & Furious
And I’m not the least bit curious
Don’t know much about the NSA
Or who they might be spying on today
But I know that I should love my wife
And if you make me President for Life
What a wonderful world this would be
La ta ta ta ta ta ta ah
(IRS)
Hmm mmm mmm
(Health Care mess)
La ta ta ta ta ta ah
(Geography)
Hmm mmm mmm, yeah
(Benghazi)
I just know that I should love my wife
And if you make me President for Life
What a wonderful world this would be
I ordered it for both dogs when I realized the expensive problems we inherited with them but was told since they were diagnosed prior to the policy, their conditions would not be covered. At that point, I canceled both policies. I plan to get it for the next dog before I have them vetted or problems develop. I’m reluctant to go down the rescue dog path again though, since we were burned twice in a row.
A visit to a Global Warming conference by Al Zeitgoreber is usually
a good indicator of record low temperatures in the host city for the duration ...
Yesterday.
Yes. Yesterday.
Is that covered under the ACA?
If you like your Vet, you get to keep your Vet.Period.
Insurance is pretty much, the big ticket stuff, like what you went through. Not clear on tue meds....
So, SG, add me to your update list please!
I’m still under the vets puppy pkg.
No, but you have to buy maternity care even if the bitch is spayed.
I like the Merv/toys episode.
