Another fraudster embarrassing the church. This cuts across all denominations. Remember the luxury house Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright received as a "retirement gift".

I’d leave that congregation fast.

If you can get a 16000 square foot house on 19 acres for only 1.7 million, I’d call that a miracle.

Wait a second. If this guy has written multiple books, gets paid a lot to speak at functions, and is on television I don't see the issue. The article makes it seem like he is using his own earned money.
It's not like he's taking money out of the collection plate. Right?

More like “Self Elevation Church”.

Why is he a fraudster? God never said pastors should be poor.
Alot of churches are going into bankruptcy in this awful economy. That his isn’t and the pastor is doing financially well is a blessing not something which which should be condemned due to envy, coveting and jealousy.

Actually, if you read the story and look at the pictures, it sounds as if he’s made a ton of money doing rock shows and books and stuff. So, probably he earned it.
On the other hand, that’s not my idea of a pastor. I can’t imagine belonging to a rock star church like that. Absolutely nothing to do with Christianity, Catholic or Protestant.

Fraud indeed. I’m not currently attending any church but this does bring to my mind, ‘ How dare you turn my Fathers house into a market (John 2:16)

Personally I’m not into mega-churches or for pastors having mansions for homes however thats up to the congregants to accept or not. Always free to go elsewhere—unlike OblahMao Scare mandates forcing us all to comply and pony up the gelt.

alick in the “Christian” sense, like Obama is in the political sense, with both preaching their versions of a “prosperity” gospel (you can have more than you’re getting out of your little life now)
Obama misuses and abuses any sense of our founding documents and Furtig misuses and abuses Christian scripture.
