Sounds like the Ruth Etting story! Marty was James Cagney’s name in that one. One of my favorite over the top performances by both Day & Cagney. “Love Me or Leave Me.”
Day/Cagney was odd casting. Still, both were superstars.....marquee names that drew in moviegoers.
Amazing that people still buy Doris’ records today........ records made years and years ago.
I love that PBS special she made-—w/ Perry Como as her guest-——snippets of it aired recently.
