I want one
I went to EAA this year for the first time and was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff there. If I saw 10%, that would be a stretch. I missed Jetman though. By 1 or so I was wiped out most days.
The lines for stuff like the tri-motor and chopper rides were pretty long. I couldn’t justify the B17 then. It was pricey.
There was a B17 that was here a couple weeks back and me and my wife got the last open slots at the time. It was a fun ride. I grabbed some photos and video despite the minor turbulence and vibration.
The trimotor will be here this weekend and I booked a ride.
I had that as well as ton of the rest of the first few lines of the 3 3/4 Joes. When I left for Great Lakes in 1989, they were in a large wood box in the closet along with a couple ammo boxes of football and baseball cards from79 or so to 84.
I never checked in that closet when I was home. After I got out, I dug the box out and found a lot broken and some missing. The boxes and cards were gone too.
A year before I think, my mom did some babysitting and didn’t think to look.
I was kind of sick and upset for a while then got over it. Years later I rebuilt some via Ebay of joes. A couple years back I sold it all off. They were taking up space and a lot of the figures rubber bands were breaking down.
I don’t think I had any real valuable cards. Oh well.
