Yes, and I think Bernie Kosar said it best. The physical abilities of most NFL QBs are very close. Even the 3rd string guys. The difference is perception on the field and the speed of their decision making. In other words the guys who become the BEST QBs in the NFL have two things in common. Number one is an offensive line that can give them 3-4 seconds to read the coverages. and the second is the ability to read the coverages in under 2 seconds.

Last year I read a vegas sportsbook manager comment that that no starting NFL QB is worth more than 3 points if injured. IOW, if any teams backup had to start (on short notice) the line wouldn’t move more than 3 points. I can’t source this as I forget who made that comment.
