If you are in a house you could fire up your rocket stove in your fireplace and cook over that. I think going up the chimney would alleviate some of the food odor. The rocket stove gives off little smoke.

I am not going to hide. If is winter I will make smoke to keep warm. I can cook over it also. The only decision to make is which gun to keep handy.

Grease collecting in soot in the chimney can alight if the temp rises too high in the chimney, so try not to cook fatty foods like bacon, etc with the smoke and grease rising in the chimney. Those bacon smells linger in the air for a loooong time, too.
