I have an original ipad and just recently started having problems with all the apps shutting down and it going back to the home screen. Did some research on it and apparently ios5 is a resource hog. Had to totally shut everything automatic on it off and now it runs ‘most of the time’.
Love my ipad but am seriously considering buying something else.

The iPad 1 had little ram. My original, that I gave to the GF has started to have problems with some complex websites. Though generally speaking, still works fine.

The march of technology is a constant.

Have you done a hard restart?

Hold down the on/off button. It’s the one at the top right of the iPad. Hold it down until it says “SLIDE TO POWER OFF”.

Slide it and wait few a few minutes. Push the same button and an Apple will appear and reboot the system.
