Apple has unveiled a top-of-the-range tablet called the iPad Air that is 20% thinner than the previous version.
The 9.7in (24.6cm) computer is 7.5mm (0.3in) thick and weighs 1lb (469g), which the firm claims is the lightest full-sized tablet on the market.
It is powered by the same A7 chip found in the company's iPhone 5S.

I stood in line several years ago to buy an untried iPad 1. I never regretted the purchase and still take it with me 7 days a week.
Today, I bought the new iPad Air. It is so light. But, I will eternally curse Jonie Ive for foisting iOS7on us. I even wrote Apple a nasty letter about iOS7.
Overall I’m happy. I wish it had the old OS.
The Mac Pro is not the Mac Book Pro.
That’s like confusing a Ford F350 with a BMW.
iPad 4 has been out a year. iPad Air = iPad 5.
The owners and fans are from now on to be referred to as ‘Airheads’.
Yeah I have tried everything. Found a place on the net that had pointers for settings that helped a little. Apparently it is just the os is a resource hog on my old original ipad.
I’m having a major issue with charge time on my mini. It taking 18 to 24 hours to recharge from fully drained to 100%. Seems I always have have it plugged in. I’m getting half a day on a charge. Thinking I made a mistake getting this over an android tablet. Made the switch at christmas. My android charged in a couple of hours, maybe three and then would go for at least a couple of days.
I’ve seen this issue discussed elsewhere but anyone here having similar problem with their mini?
Hello, that’s me. I paid the price for the iPad mini. To be honest I don’t see it is any better than the android I had at least for my usage. Plus with the problem I am having with battery life I’m regretting the purchase.
Are you closing apps?
Have you taken it to a apple store to the help desk?
Going there tomorrow. Should have done that earlier. Thanks.
