We have a feeder pole with a similar construction. This past summer a chickadee got its foot caught in the Y and we found it dead. Ended up wrapping that area with electrical tape so things can’t get caught. Peta should protest /sarc

You know what, I think you should lose, or at least have your man card suspended, for allowing one of our benutted brothers of the wild to suffer so without freeing him.
Those things get many of us males in trouble at one time or another and it is our duty as fellow sacced ones to render the afflicted brother assistance. While we may kill and eat the critter later, in his health, he should be shown restraint in a time of testicular tribulation.

A squirrel here would warm his, spread eagle, on top of the swingset and cool them on the stair rail with a most contented look on his face. Did that for 2-3 years.
