A French bank apologized after posting a photo on Facebook of a squirrel caught hanging upside down by his testicles on a bird feeder. Caisse d'Epargne shared the photo on Facebook as part of a marketing campaign for a line of insurance. The photo was accompanied by a slogan, "Because accidents don't just happen to others, insurance will also cover you for any temporary injuries."
TheLocal.fr said Friday many of the bank's 24,000 Facebook followers thought the account had been hacked. When the bank realized followers' reaction they apologized and took down the photo.
"We wanted to make use of the social networks but we made a mistake. It was a communication error. We've hurt Facebook followers and potential customers and we regret it," the bank said.
ROTFL!
Funny. All the squirrels around here play piano...
Figures when they finally found a pair in that country
they’d be on a squirrel.
You know what, I think you should lose, or at least have your man card suspended, for allowing one of our benutted brothers of the wild to suffer so without freeing him.
Those things get many of us males in trouble at one time or another and it is our duty as fellow sacced ones to render the afflicted brother assistance. While we may kill and eat the critter later, in his health, he should be shown restraint in a time of testicular tribulation.
HAHA!
This should happen to every greedy squirrel in my backyard!
That one probably deserves its own thread. I mean, isn't this the sort of thing the State Department ought to be warning us about?
"I wish my brother George was here."
Even the squirrels are shouting Uff da!
Ouch.
A squirrel here would warm his, spread eagle, on top of the swingset and cool them on the stair rail with a most contented look on his face. Did that for 2-3 years.
That picture has been kicking around FR for a year. It was determined that the squirrel had passed from some
other cause, and it was subsequently mounted on the feeder in that horrible position for an “amusing” picture.
Really, no living animal would get itself into that kind of predicament.
And more proof, you can see the snare marks on its back leg.
Thanks a lot. You’ve ruined it for everyone.
That photo always warms my mood.
I hate squirrels, they are rats with fuzzy tails. Exterminate the species.
Sorry!
Just kidding. : )
Yes, I know. Just making you feel guilty for beating up an old lady. [smiles]
I could change my name to TheOldCreepyAzCracker. But I don’t hit 60 until January. So I will change it to TheAlmostOldCreepyAzCracker. 60 is the new 40!
Why, you young whipper snapper! You’re seven years younger than I am.
I’d say, “Respect your elders,” but I’d rather just make a new friend here.
[more smiles]
