As The Gates of Vienna remind us, the left already has a Secular Ten Commandments.

“Georgia Guidestones”
1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion faith tradition and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth beauty love seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth Leave room for nature Leave room for nature.
Now #3 goes completely against what happened at the Tower of Babel. The rest sounds like Gaia worship.
Interesting.
#1 requires killing all awful lot of people to get to the goal. Some entity would presumably have to implement the plan.
#2 presumably requires an authority to make these decisions. That’s called eugenics, and it doesn’t have a nice record.
#3 requires (in practice) an authority to force people into use of this language. If there’s one thing history shows, it’s that peoples don’t give up their native language without a fight.
#4 is just pablum. No real meaning.
#5 is also pablum. Nobody would disagree, except on the definitions of “fair” and “just,” on which they would disagree vehemently.
#6 does not address what happens when a nation violates any of these principles internally. If it can do so and get away with it, they they’re all meaningless.
#7 I can get behind, but it’s essentially meaningless without definitions of “petty” and “useless.”
#8 I can agree with, but as always it depends on the definitions.
#9 is more glittering generalities.
As is #10. Who decides at what point a person or nation has become a “cancer on the earth,” and what is done about it?
