I'm surprised no one has posted this yet, well at least I'm unaware if someone has, but as a former Rand Paul fan I am furious, I am enraged, I am disappointed. I'm at a loss for words, I don't even know what to say.
The Tea-party jihadists, RP & McConnell discussing their true intentions to bulls**t and waste as much time as they can on a Mic they didn't know was on. While 800,000 + people just got laid off of work...
WE NEED TO CLEAN THE HOUSE AND START OVER AGAIN!

Yes, it was in the news at the time.

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.
[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]
This has been posted. What’s the issue?
Rand essentially says that “we’re willing to compromise” (which we were) polls well, and the Democrats look terrible refusing to come to the table. He then speculates we may win.
People seem shocked when politicians are talking strategy behind the scenes. *gasp!* they’re politicians!
Here's the passage at issue:In the 1980s, the war caucus in Congress armed bin Laden and the mujaheddin in their fight with the Soviet Union. In fact, it was the official position of the State Department to support radical jihad against the Soviets. We all know how well that worked out.Let's leave aside for now the insulting, utterly asinine, sickening, inexcusable use of the phrase "war caucus" to describe those (including Reagan!) who supported the mujaheddin against the Soviets. That word choice alone is almost entirely disqualifying for its purveyor to ever be president.
Instead, let's just look at a little history here -- because the ignorance evident in this paragraph is truly astonishing. One would be hard pressed to find even a single historian, whether right, left, or center, who would argue anything other than that the Soviet failure in Afghanistan was not just a huge factor, but probably an essential one, in the Soviets' ultimate loss of the Cold War. ...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]

...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
I never saw anything here on Free Republic.
I didn’t see it.
It was played to Rand Paul during a TV interview and he said he would have said the same thing even if he knew it was being recorded.
did he just endorse McConnell for re-election??
No, that was The Rube, who did that this morning. Rand gave his endorsement of Midge several weeks ago :(
okay
I’m a somewhat tepid Rand Paul fan, but as soon as I read this:
“...as a former Rand Paul fan I am furious, I am enraged, I am disappointed. I’m at a loss for words, I don’t even know what to say.”
I knew it was a BS hitjob by a lib.
So RP isn’t a GOP-E guy?
“bin Laden and the mujaheddin”
Bin Laden, and what became the Northern Alliance, were part of different groups, albeit ones that cooperated against the Soviets. Bin Ladens associates wanted nothing to do with our unclean help, making any theoretical offer a moot point. We assisted the Northern Alliance, which is the same group we supported in driving back the Taliban in 2001.
Good Luck with that.
What’s your suggestion?
