Since last week's MFASA was "In Like Flint", it just seemed like a good idea to post its predecessor. In one of the best of the 1960s Bond imitations, America's top secret agent Derek Flint battles an evil organization controlling the world's weather(I guess we could call them climate changers today?). Interesting to me as a conservative old classic movie fan in that the villains in both Flint pictures tended to be on the left(feminists in "In Like Flint" and eco-terrorists in "Our Man Flint"). Gila Golan a.k.a. Miss Israel 1961 makes a gorgeous leading lady. And the final third featuring Flint's adventures on Galaxy Island makes for a grand finish.

Love James Colburn in the Fint movies. But how do you explain the English subtitles to an English version movie?

I've always wondered about the technical details of the famous Hotline ringtone, which became sort of a character in its own right. It seems to involve several interleaved electronic tones which have a fairly raw edge to them. I don't think it was done with a synthesizer, per se, as it was early days for that, but I do think it was electronic.

If you want camp check out “The Silencers” with Dean Martin as semi-retired secret agent Matt Helm. You can’t tell if they did this movie straight-faced or if it was all designed to be a joke.

Gila Golan was sort of the Ziva David of her day.
