The HS had dedicated an entire squad of cheerleaders to dressing down with pink ribbons an some unique pink-trimmed uniforms.
The pink stuff is played out.
I couldn't agree more. I'm tired of being badgered at the checkout for 'rounding-up' my purchase to the next dollar to donate.
Also: Sorry, ladies. I'm male and I don't appreciate all the uneven attention to gender-specific disease research (yes, I know men get breast cancer, too...but you can't make the same claim to fame about the prostate).
This 'pink' thing seems all too convenient for special interests.
I've got an idea...how about converting 'pink' to ALL cancer research? How 'bout that?
As an aside, anyone throw down $$ on when the Ducks debut with Rainbow helmets?
Ah, but don't they [Komen] support abortion, and isn't abortion correlated to increased rates of breast cancer, and that gets them more money...
Maybe it is the cynic in me, but with all these millions of dollars in donations and grants, are we any further along in the actual root cause of these diseases and the cure when that root cause is found? Sure, there have been advances, but is the delivery of these being paced out in such a way that still allows the money to keep flowing?
Remember a couple of years ago when the Susan G Komen Foundation, a major breast cancer research org, wanted to stop giving money to Planned Parenthood? There was a major uproar by all the libs.
