I was going to post a reply saying “NBC NEWS is reporting this?!?”

but then I realized that this execrable “news” organization, like all the others, is going to use the disaster that is Obamacare as ‘Exhibit A’ for single payer. Would that we had a Republican Party that would make the case for the free market. Perhaps, if the Tea Party makes it voice heard, we will come November 2014.

frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies.

But, President Obama promised the American people that if they liked their health care plan, they could keep it. He wouldn't have lied to us, would he?

VA, Affordable Care Act and You

What is the Affordable Care Act?

The Affordable Care Act, also known as the health care law, was created to expand access to coverage, control health care costs and improve health care quality and care coordination. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans’ out-of-pocket costs.

Three things you should know:
1 VA wants all Veterans to receive health care that improves their health and well-being.
2 If you are enrolled in VA health care, you don’t need to take additional steps to meet the health care law coverage standards. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans’ out-of-pocket costs.
3 If you are not enrolled in VA health care, you can apply at any time.

Veterans Enrolled in VA Health Care

The good news is that Veterans enrolled in VA health care programs have health coverage that meets the new health care law’s standard. You do not have to take any additional steps to have health coverage. Read more if enrolled…

Veterans Not Enrolled in VA Health Care

Veterans not currently enrolled in VA health care program can apply for enrollment at any time. Read more about enrolling…

Family Members

VA offers health care benefits for certain family members of Veterans through programs such as the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) and the Spina Bifida program. Read more about VA family programs…

Your family members who are not enrolled in a VA health care program should use the Marketplace to get coverage.

Additional Health Care Law Information

We understand you may have questions about the health care law and how it might affect you and your family. We compiled basic information about the health care law to help you make informed decisions about your health care. Let us know if you have questions regarding the health care law and your VA health care at 1-877-222-VETS (8387). After all, ensuring you receive quality health care is not just our obligation, it’s also our privilege.

By all accounts, the new policies will offer consumers better coverage,

Of all the stupid media tricks, the appeal to majority combined with the substitution of the writer's opinion as fact bugs me the most.

The 'new policies' are delivered at the point of a sword as well...but of course NBC thinks this is just ducky.

I'm tempted to snicker also but then I wonder if I'm going to be included in the unfortunates who see their policies get hiked.

There are always people on FR who say they won't vote because they're interested in seeing Dems win so the country can learn a "lesson".

Do they stop to think about all the conservatives who will suffer when the country implodes?

More redistribution of wealth at the point of an IRS agent's gun.

By all accounts, the new policies will offer consumers better coverage, in some cases, for comparable cost -- especially after the inclusion of federal subsidies for those who qualify.

Guess NBC never saw this chart from the Heritage Foundation:

And NBC fails to mention the "federal subsidies" will be paid for by you and me. Another hugh entitlement program.

Your government provides your healthcare now, get used to it because soon enough, they will be the only game in town, and that will be the law of the land.

They are comparing old private coverage costs to exchange cost what is worse is comparing old coverage to the replacement coverage offered by same carrier.

By ALL ACCOUNTS, the new policies will offer consumers better coverage, in SOME cases, for comparable cost — ESPECIALLY after the inclusion of federal subsidies FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY.
