I know what you mean. When I moved to Asia, I worried about missing American sports. But not anymore, when I read such headlines: ‘NFL Kicker Punts for Gay Rights,’ ‘NFL Goes Pink;’ and ‘Obama Invites NBA Boston Celtics to LGBT Fundraiser.’
I admit my husband and I are big MLB (and minor league baseball) fans, and NHL fans as well. You really don't hear this pro-liberal, pro-gay stuff on a daily basis. We hardly hear any of it at all, and we watch a lot of baseball, and attend several MLB and MiLB games a year.
Peter Gammons is a big Massachusetts hate-filled liberal. He's well known up here in our liberal neck of the woods (we live in the People's Republik of Connecticut). We never pay any attention to him.
But you can keep the two thugball sports: the NFL and the NBA. The NBA in particular is dead to us.
We'll watch college basketball, March Madness and all of that, but the NBA? It's like we don't even know it exists anymore, and we like it that way.
yup. As one who has watched great sporting events/games from 1972 - 2000, I could care less about all sports due to some of the things you posted.
Just a different type of social engineering today.
I do admit that I am listening to the Cards on the radio though. No more Direct TV (cost), just NetFlix and my radio.
Listening to a ball game on radio is pretty fun.
