Yes, and I believe it is a sign of the times.

Too many people want to learn to live with them and other predators, the animals get used to humans and lose their fear.

It is unusual. This is first attack on a man I recall. I’ve camped plenty in coyote country and never been bothered by them.

I was in Longmont yesterday dealing with flood damage remediation in Lyons. The catastrophe has displaced a lot of animals... but the scavenger type animals have been having a buffet of washed up rotting fish and crayfish. You can see coon and coyote tracks in the mud everywhere.
