Vanity.
My biggest pet peeve. She cares more about the way she looks than anything else.
I have a mother just like that. She’s now 74, and the way she looks in the mirror is still the most important thing to her (It doesn’t mean I don’t love her).
El Rushbo also said that people must have courage, that is, the courage to face the truth.
Maria Kang’s fitness points out for many the unpleasant truth they refuse to face up to.
So they attack the messenger (by the way, those boys will soon wish they’d never heard the term “Tiger Mom”).
Yeah, I was wondering how much time she spent “keeping fit” instead of loving on her kids.
During her interview on Fox, she explained and showed how she is not neglecting her kids. Heck, she has them join her and plays with them and it instills good health habits with them as well. It isn’t just about “looks” it is about good HEALTH. I figure that she wants to be there for them and her injured husband for the long haul. If she is unhealthy, then how long can she care for them? More importantly, she is a fitness trainer; this is GREAT advertisement for her and her business.
You don’t have to be a mom or an in shape mom. You don’t have to be a mom or a career woman.
I learned in the Marine Corps, if you slept last night, then you had time to take care of the things that needed to be done! Period! No excuses, just do what needs to be done.
When my kids were younger, I spent many a day/evening playing with my kids, and then after they and my wife went to bed, I finished the work that needed to be done before the next day.
Read in the paper today that Miley is expected to the the #1 Halloween costume this year.
Any little b@stard that shows up at my door twerking is gonna get a bag full of turnips LOL.
How much time did you spend on hair and makeup?
She’s a fitness blogger, (I guess that’s a career?). If she does that then why shouldn’t she show it off?
Stupid to get outraged over this.
See my post #25.
She is a fitness trainer. This is what she does for a living and her kids are included when she does her training.
This is less about vanity than it is about advertising and staying healthy.
When did Americans succumb to the narrative that everything is a this OR that option?
Hair: very little, other than a weekly buzz cut that I gave myself.
Makeup: only for combat purposes! That is my thinking for females in the civilian world too!
My wife and my four daughters typically only wear makeup when they are going out for special occasions, date nights, etc... If they don’t love you when you are in the raw, then what are they actually looking for: a clown?
Besides, that’s what I love about ‘em: simple living girls.
She looks Asian. My Chinese wife also, at the age of 39, slimmed right down to a teen-age figure immediately after the birth of our son. And, at 50, still looks mid-30’s.
I suspect that there may be a genetic connection to some women’s ability to ‘spring-back’ to their pre-pregnancy figure.
Look at your wife’s mother...
I was being facetious. As a man, I think you have very little concept of what it takes to look like this woman. It isn’t just about being fit. It is about hair, makeup, clothes, etc. It is vanity, and striving for perfection and it isn’t worth it.
As a woman who has been there and done that, and is now way past my prime. I am happy to say that I did eventually get my priorities in line. It no longer matters what someone else thinks of my “perfection.” What matters is the love of my God, my family, my community and my country.
Now, you spoke of the natural beauty of your wife and daughters. I really like that...natural beauty... and a natural, healthy opinion of yourself. Those are attributes to be much desired!
She’s a heck of a lot better looking than that Kim Kardashian who they say is losing weight. I am suspicious because her fanny looks enormous.
Personally I have known all too many people who were about noting BUT excuses. And typically they’d reject on delivery if you tried to tell them to stop making excuses.
NO APOLOGIES NEEDED! It is a shame that women in general treat each other with such hostility.
Makes me laugh. She’s great looking.
I’m sure a bunch of run-of-the-mill couch potatoes were just about to the motivational point to do something about their weight when they saw this picture and caption and had their motivation sucked right out of them.
I think this is wonderful. My husband and I also work out with our kids. It’s part of our family time.
I should add that our youngest of three is six weeks old and I’m nursing her for the first year just like the other two. Exercise is a priority because the more in shape I am the better I feel, the better I sleep, and the better I keep up with my kids. I actually have more energy to spend more time with them. I can get other things done more efficiently as well. Muscles make me a better mommy!
Its not fair !! (lol /sarc) to judge american women against asian women in the wight and size category,,, imho
