I'm leaving Biography in Sound and going to listen to Antioch or 20th Century.
Have a good night and week Gina.
See you later, Vision!
I've been on a detective and mystery kick for a while, so maybe "Soft Rains" was from the Dimension-X remake of X-1. Or was X-1 the remake?
Cut and paste errors, typos, happens to even most of the best.
Oh, yes, now I remember! I have read “There Will Come Soft Rains” which has a similar “smart” home theme as his “The Veldt,” but Veldt has another diabolical story line. I have a compilation of his short stories and a couple of his novels, and I really appreciate his keen, creative abilities. Bradbury is a mastermind writer. Remember his short story “The Illustrated Man”? Oh, how chilling!
The X-1 episode from the Big Broadcast was a Bradbury story I had not heard (or read) before, and it did not include the “Soft Rains” follow-up. It only had the story of America’s children and the “invasion” of aliens, and it was, as you said, a fifteen minute story.
