Rather impressive technology, to say the least!

Perhaps not the shot heard round the world, but.....

Have drones and smart rifles made it impossible to protect politicians and famous people when they are outdoors?

Ringing steal at 1K yards. If that doesn’t give you a chubby, nothing will.

What is it she’s shooting? .338 Lapua?

I think I’ve read about this system before. You tag your target, it calculates windage and elevation for you, you pull the trigger, and it doesn’t fire until you’re dead on target. No skill involved, indeed. She’s all over, and should have a bag under the stock.

I’ve shot at 600 at a range I belong to. It’s not trivial. You really do have to watch the flags and time your shot. And you have to have the right equipment. I can only guess what 1K yards is like. The nearest 1K yard range is half a state away.

Looking at the video, one must ask, why is a human in the loop at all, 12-years old or otherwise?

The human's role should be limited to choosing the target, not aiming or pulling the trigger.

If you don't need a human to land a drone on a carrier, why do you need a human to hit a target at 1000 yards?

Strange times we’re living in.

Imagine a few of these rifles, and maybe a few night vision scopes, on Iwo Jima.

Very nice. Every time I say “I’m done Gun Shopping” I find something else I want. This is defiantly on the list!

This is neat, but I'm afraid it would just about drive the last nail into the coffin in terms of actual enjoyment of the sport, at least for me. For something that simply HAS to be holed, though, it's impressive.

Not lovable, but impressive.

Eleven years old, 30-yards. Seems like the perfect year to train.
