But, my Great Grandmother told me the greatest invention was the push button starter for cars.
She worked as a teen and hated that she had to wake her brother every morning very early in order to crank start the car for her.
She was about 5 foot tall and probably never weighed more than 100 pounds.
That electric starter for cars was invented by Charles Kettering, a most humble genius with many patents in his name.
I was fascinated by his biography. He cared little about the millions he made and gave it away during his lifetime. He is the Kettering in the Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute.
My aunt said the most important innovation during her childhood was the window screen!
Similarly, electric starters on motorcycles have opened up bikes to a lot of people who probably wouldn't otherwise be able to start a modern motorcycle.
