Of course we always come up to Boston via the Mass Pike. What a massive difference traffic-wise it is to attend a game at Fenway Park vs. TD Garden, up in NW Boston. Our game was on a Thursday night, too, so you could imagine the traffic nightmare.
We were not familiar with the area, so we just pulled into the expensive parking garage under the Garden. Somehow we managed to arrive about 15 minutes before the game started, although we had hoped to get there earlier.
The Fenway Park area seems like an easy suburban location compared to the TD Garden area. Of course we've been going to Fenway for decades... we know the area pretty well by now.

The whole of BOS has become very difficult to park in, so naturally, the parking lots/garages make out.
It used to be that a parking ticket was cheaper than paying to park, but the city of Boston caught onto that, too.
