Hubby and I were at the game on Saturday night. EVERYONE at Fenway said the same thing: "Morales?? WTF?!"
We all know Morales sucks, *and* he hadn't pitched in something like 2+ weeks.
Everyone was angry and incredulous that Farrell was about to throw away Game 6, and force Game 7... vs. Verlander.
If not for that "lucky" grand slam by Victorino, Farrell could have gone down in Red Sox history as another Grady Little.
The boos from the Fenway Faithful when Morales was removed, and made his way back to the Red Sox dugout were *deafening*. Loudest boos I've ever heard there - I don't know if you could hear that on TV. And fans at Fenway generally don't boo as much as they do at other ballparks.
But this was Game 6 of the ALCS, and Farrell almost threw it away.
Freakin' unbelievable.
“If not for that “lucky” grand slam by Victorino, Farrell could have gone down in Red Sox history as another Grady Little.”
Damn right!!!
