An ethnic Greek friend, whose family had lived in Egypt since the fourth century BC before moving here recently, told me of family weekend outings to beaches on the Red Sea. They would light bonfires and then grill swordfish in the embers. He said swordfish was delicious. I imagine the first Ptolemy doing likewise.
I say this in fun. Considering the marriage habits of Greeks in Egypt under the Ptolemy’s, does your friend play a mean banjo.
