You claim “patronization” then proceed to add on another layer of meaning within the National Anthem while proclaiming me to be the weaker brother because I can’t see that???
Wow...just...wow. I’m glad you feel so strongly in your faith and your patriotism, I fully support both and don’t wish to create division so I guess I’ll take my leave now. I’ve got meat in the smoker for this afternoon’s tailgate. If you’re supporting a particular college team, I hope you have a great game today, too.
I’m directing you to notice that the entire creation is built of metaphors for God and God’s work. Romans 1:20. A biblical minded generation gave rise to the work we know as the Star Spangled Banner, and approved it. It shows. If you don’t like to be patronized, then don’t patronize someone else then lam it out of here when it gets too hot in the kitchen for you.
“Add on another layer” fooey. It was present, BENEATH the surface. People speak out of the overflow of the heart. The heart of that age was more godly than that of this age.
OK, I’ll stop here at a trilogy.
When you eat your smoked meat think of the sacrifice of Christ. And think of heavenly joy that will come from partaking of Him forever at “the end of the story” which you said I needed to read.
You’re welcome!
