Doesn’t a Cherokee do 120 Kts? Which engine?

I live about two miles from work. I need a car that does >200 Mi/Hr to get to work. I want to be able to kiss my wife “goodbye” and (Kapow!) I’m at work. Like that.

You knowingly decided to drive in the HOV lane. That’s not a mistake.

Put Jersey barriers up to separate the HOV lane.

Give special training & licenses to high speed bus drivers - 90mph.

Run inter city buses in these high speed lanes.

Bus terminals are at the better malls in a city. Plenty of parking, food court, restaurants, good lighting, no inner city thugs prowling.

Use the airport car rental type shuttle buses from this inter city hub to take passengers to various neighborhoods & business districts.

System to be managed by UPS or ADO bus lines out of Mexico.

Who needs the airport hassle for a 200 mile flight?

CT posts fines (in the 300s, typically) as well as CA and PA.

Something like that would be a better use of the HOV right of way.

Or just open up the stupid lanes.

I remember those fines posted as you entered PA. It clearly stated that the fines start at 56mph. Now how could someone “maintain” 56 mph?

"Or just open up the stupid lanes."

I've been saying this for years. Just how "green" is it to have 3 lanes at a standstill chugging out exhaust, when there's a perfectly good empty lane?

One that we've already paid $%#&ing taxes to build.

I saw a lot of out of state Cadillac, Mercedes, etc. that found out .... the radar read out said 56.

Although they don’t post their fines on signs, Illinois will run their speed traps on the interstates with out of state drivers being prime income. They generally setup a mobile payment center in a van near the speed trap. They then encourage you to pay on the spot (and they do take credit/debit cards) or you can go to the nearest town/county seat and spend a couple of days trying to get released on bond. Above all, never consent to allowing your car to be searched if you have a gun. Even if it is properly secured they will steal it, or if you protest will fake the circumstances and drag you off to the locals and steal it anyway. Or even better yet, just avoid the place.

Why not? A significant percentage of the time my destination is home, who doesn’t want to get home sooner rather than later? I’m a destination guy, not a journey guy (nor a Journey guy).
