after police found fishing knives in a tackle box in his car

Why were they searching his car without a warrant or contact his parents first to ask permission to search his car?

the 4th amendment really is DEAD DEAD DEAD!

Seriously?! A fishing knife = a felony? If the student would have said no to the search it might have resulted in a felony charge to the officer for unlawful search and seizure. Kids need to have the law explained to them and know that there are boundaries for public servants and elected officials though it seems as if the DC crowd has self-elevated themselves to god status on earth.

Just what I was thinking. Perhaps signed school forms for parking privileges includes a clause that all vehicles parked on school property may be searched.

Those who willingly violate it at my expense could find themselves in much the same state.

I would say, "Because they could". Who in the hell does this kid think he is, A Free American? The lords and masters taught him right quick.

Then again, a lot of times, parking lots of companies, institutions, schools, ect. have a sign or signs that read, "All vehicles subject to search".

At this point in time, the only Constitutional Right guaranteed you is a right to an abortion. .

Exactly they cannot search a car at will.
