True but there was an Euphoric dance in the streets that Russia (USSR) was now decimated and that we could enjoy the “Peace Dividend” and rapidly disarm now that the Russian bear was dead.

That dance proved to be premature as we see a resurgent Soviet-like Putin dictatorship born out of the Soviet ashes and cinderblocks of the Berlin wall flexing it's muscle.

Of course, with Obama at the helm, it is a no-brainer for Putin.
So while the wall fell, so did the West's guard...
