Why is CNN in all Airports?
Vanity | Jim Noble

Posted on 10/02/2013 7:14:27 AM PDT by Jim Noble

I don't travel much, but right now I'm in the A Concourse at Atlanta and I fu**ing cannot get away from CNN. It's everywhere, spewing propaganda about children suffering from Head Start being shut down.

Haven't they heard that Head Start is a fraud and a colossal waste?

Seriously, this experience is like the telescreen in 1984. Only members of the Inner Party can shut it off, and there's no members around right now.

I think I'll go to the chapel and say a few prayers for JimRob.

I also notice it is always on in restaurants and shops that have TV in the waiting area. I always presumed it was some modern day form of Payola.

The business plan for CNN was to equip all airports with
monitors. Turner knew that he would have a wide diverse and captive audience. That is how they started business, before moving on to cable and broadcast.

Fox isn’t what it used to be anymore either. IF I do watch any news though it’s still Fox. The other outlets drive me nuts. And it ain’t a long drive either.

At my doctor’s office it’s the Food Network.

Plus I think CNN gets more traveller credibility than Fox.

CNN has a history of foreign bureaus. They were in Iraq in 1991 as it was invaded, not as imbedded reporters but as occupants. Fox can’t claim that.

So their rep is with the international travelling public.

How Southwest gets around this, I don’t know; but it makes sense that they show Fox; being a Texas comapany.

Better than CNN, but not by much......and doesn’t change the fact that CNN dominates only one area....the generic public screens.

Required viewing for captive audiences in doctor's waiting areas, airports, hotel bar lounges, elevator lobbies...just yesterday I was at an automobile dealership's service area waiting lounge for over two hours. Nothing but CNN. Hysteria: Ashley Banfield's "coverage" of the "Republican government shutdown" gave viewers the impression it was the end of the world. Seas rising! Mountains falling! OMG!!...THIS JUST IN! SMOKEY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK...C-C-C-CLOSED! CHILDREN AND THEIR LITTLE SCHOOL GROUPS TURNED AWAY! OH, THE HUMANITY!

The “Airport Edition” also never covers airplane crashes. More evidence for the “1984” file...(cue the Twilight Zone theme music)

Tell me about it.

In all the court houses too. Jury duty waiting to be called is a real pain. Probably hospital waiting lounges. (haven't been in one for a long time)

I asked for another channel, and what do you know it, daytime soap opera!!!!! OMG! Just kill me please.

For the most part Southwest actually listens to their customers and tries to please them.

CNN is state run propaganda on par with Pravda. And like any typical Soviet style authoritarian society, state run propaganda is broadcast in all public venues.

They still allow 'Christian' chapels at airports ?

Can we have a media shutdown? That would be bliss.

No, actually the airport must pay CNN. The airport does get some advertising revenue but I doubt its enough to cover the costs.

Why is CNN in all Airports?

believe it or not, CNN and NBC are the primary news stations of the Rockefeller family's propaganda machine, but it utilizes (controls) all of the MSM.

Because they have a captive audience. That’s the only people that actually watch it, because they have no other choice.

The “Airport Edition” also never covers airplane crashes.

Yes, it can lead to some confusion in airports:

CNN Airport Network News Was Blocked by Airports

The title is actually wrong, per the article. The airports don't block CNN, CNN self-censors news about airplane crashes.
