This is a problem.

Bachmann, Steve King, Broun, Dent, Gohmert may end up voting against this resolution due to a deeply held conviction never to vote for anything that doesn’t fully defund Obamacare.

Put that together with King’s surrender caucus, and the resolution might be defeated.
This will send the entire party into a meltdown. Bad news.

Then why isn't the House avoiding a defund bill by submitting separate department-level funding bills in its place?

Instead of defunding Obamacare, just separately fund everything else. That way, they aren't violating their convictions.

I'm guessing that they're not doing this because the leadership is afraid that it's so simple to understand by the People, that it might work. If it might work, then they have to avoid it as much as possible.
