It was the third shutdown in 1996 (first two in 1995) when Newt and Dole gave Clinton the exact CR he demanded after getting lots of angry phone calls, be torn apart by the Media, made fun of on TV shows, that CR was the equivalent Obama's current demands funding Obama care now(say in a week from now) .
But naturally Rush and Newt have spun that humiliating end into Newts big victory, which they had to. So many remember it that way now.
