Here’s a better Idea: Canada and the U.S. become THREE nations. Quebec establishes independence. The U.S. conservative states merge with the Canadian western provinces. Ontario and the U.S. northeastern states merge into a third country. Everybody’s happy!
We would need to lose SF and LA, Seattle, Denver, Las Vegas, Austin, Boulder and and Portland. Texas North to the Hudson Bay, Texas East to the Atlantic, plus the decent parts of CA, Washington and Oregon would be a pretty great nation. Photo ID and purple ink on the finger for voting.
