“...Just dont let it happen again!!!...”
And so, properly chastised, Hale limped away, head hanging low... the sunset somehow a little less bright... the wrath of MestaMachine ringing clear in his whiskey-besotted head...
“...stories of people not knowing about Tylenol and Band-aids...”
Makes you think hard about all the tiny little things we take for granted...
... then the thought of it makes ya pissed that ANYONE would even remotely try to wreck what we have here; ESPECIALLY morons that happen to inhabit the same square footage as we do...
... and then it makes ya determined to prevent them from succeeding... by any and every means necessary.
“...they are worthless....”
Truly, some of them are. And they seem to feel the need to try and convince other people to see the Country as hopelessly as they do.
Hell with them.
“...Hell play Carrie as transgendered and will kill all the intolerant right-wing -phobic haters...”
Ya know, they’re just psychotic enough in Hollyweird to make that storyline happen, brother...
I want credit (and $$). ;-)
Git yer “fair share”....
No problem, brother. Keep telling it like it is.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
You said “fair share.”
But I’m not crazy.
Just using a little libspeak...
Don’t hit me now!!!! haha!
I would never strike you, Sir! Nor anyone else.
Maybe I’ll yell at you a little, but not now when your whiskey-soaked brain is so full of... well, whiskey.
“...whiskey-soaked brain ...”
It’s true I’ve a penchant for good Kentucky bourbon... thins the blood, keeps the heart pumping easier... or so my Granma used to say!!! And she made it to 87...(Miss her and her cooking!!!)
Some years ago we hosted a big group of English students from the Czech Republic in our home. Their instructor wanted them to visit an American restaurant, so the first night we went to Chilis, which, as you surely know, is a fairly pedestrian Tex-Mex chain and not at all overwhelming. Well, these Czechs (all adults) were utterly gobsmacked. They went silent (no mean feat for Czechs!), they stared, they were glassy-eyed. We got the party moved out back to a quiet table on the deck and they were finally able to collect themselves enough to talk and eat, but the instructor and I still had to order for many of them. The menu alone was intensely intimidating to them. I was told later that in the rural Czech Republic a restaurant serves one or two dishes. There is no menu, except maybe for alcohol.
Anyway, I handed these folks off to another family a few days later. I am told they went to Potomac Mills Mall. I still wonder what that must have been like.
Excellent post NFHale. Thanks for pinging!
Ah, a whiskey drinkin’ man! My favorite.
I like the smoky Islay single malts from Scotland like LaPhroaig and Oban and Ardbeg.
Don’t tell anyone, but wimmens aren’t supposed to like the smoky stuff. But oh well.
Thank you...
Like I said... these ex-pat troll types get annoying after a while. People should see some of this stuff and respond.
Wimmins can drink with me anytime, ma’am...
I prefer bourbon, but also like Scotch... Just finished my bottle of 12 year old Glenfydich not too long ago, and need to get another. That’s a mighty fine tasty drink there.
Woodford Reserve is a good bourbon if you’re in the mood for it.
And I also go back to my stalwart Jack Daniel’s... Gentleman Jack is very nice these days... Although I will confess that “Rebel Yell” gets my internal COnfederate riled up...
And there’s Jameson’s and Bushmill’s as well, waitin’ in the wings when I feel a little bit of “IRA Provos” mood coming on.
Yeah... it’s no secret God created Whiskey so the Irish wouldn’t conquer the World!!! Ha!
...BUT...
I also have to confess a fondness for Vodka, from the Ukrainian/Austrian side of me lineage...
And THAT stuff...brrr... Brings out the Revolutionary Cossack in me, and it ain’t pretty ... Bolsheviks run like hell when that happens...
LOL! Bryan and I went on a whiskey tour in Scotland and visited many of the distilleries, including Oban, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Laphroaig, and Glenmorangie.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed sipping the smoky malts out of the tiny glasses in which they serve the samples.
But it wasn’t all whiskey. We spent several days walking around Ullapool and spending too much in the shops.
We toured the lochs after driving up the east coast from England and staying in John O’Groats for a night before continuing on toward the west and south to
Loch Ness, where there is a large statue of Nessie outside a small restaurant. We spent a night in Oban, and went back to England, headed for London where
we spent our last two nights at Claridges.
Bryan was still a subject of the Queen at that point, but he has since become an American citizen.
I’ve always liked American “Scotch,” but I never knew how good Scots Scotch was until I tried the peaty malts.
I never liked vodka overmuch, but I wouldn’t turn it down either.
“...never knew how good Scots Scotch was...”
They make it with love, because they love it so... Haha!!
Good people, those Scots... tough as nails, too.
