Florida Governor Rick Scott issued an executive order Monday rejecting the Common Core educational initiative adopted in 2010 by the Florida State Board of Education (BOE) and endorsed by former Gov. Jeb Bushs Foundation for Floridas Future as a Federal government intrusion into his states right to set its own academic standards.

You mean a government official is actually possibly doing something for his people for once? I think I’m about to faint...
^ and something against the Islamic / socialist indoctrination at that. Hopefully he doesn’t get charged with a hate crime or violation of free speech against the NWO religion of choice for Satanists everywhere.../s
Yup. And there are a lot of detractors in the state too. And even after he was “intimidated” for weeks post tray boyeeez “murder” trial it doesn’t appear that the “awful” stand your ground law is going anywhere. Even with the painting of GZ with an Uzi executing trayboy in the front office. Glad I voted for RS before I left the state. If it weren’t for the humidity................
This is good. Hopefully additional governors will follow suit. We are going to see Michelle Malkin tomorrow night; she plans to talk about how to keep Common Core out of the schools. We are not too familiar with Common Core, but the husband could not pass a chance to see her in person. :)
Glenn Beck hammers this issue nearly every day. Malkin also rocks on the issue on social media.
As if the education “system” could be dumbed down anymore. Lucky for us there are still kids and parents out there that can seperate the bs out and still think. (Unlike me who can’t even spell seperate. LOL!)
So Scott thinks states can run their own education systems without the District of Corruption dictating to them? This dangerous thinking that D.C. is dispensable after all could spread. Heaven forbid!
Florida is too far into the Common Core to really, seriously back out now. Rick Scott does stuff like this all the time, just to look good. He’ll tweak it all very slightly, call it the “Sunshine State Standards” or something, and call it a victory.
Good for him. Too bad our supposedly conservative gov Nathan Deal has embraced it.
Don’t joke. This is a big moment. Exactly what Republican governors should do across the country.
There are 20 states now trying to move against Common Core. This thing should be called Obama’s Intrusive and Totalitarian Education Plan. In other words, just like ObamaCare.
Here’s a funny story from Maryland, when a parent tried to ask a question about Common Core and got arrested.

BUMP
Scott did the right thing, whether he had to be forced into it by his voters is the question
