It has nothing to do with how hard it is, but rather how effectve that effort is. Why spend the time/effort/etc. into a letter or e-mail that--if it is read at all--will be thoroughly ignored or laughed at by idiots?

There are much more effective and useful ways to spend our time and effort.

I dispute that. In fact it's insulting. Letters and emails to them in the past have had no impact. Einstein said insanity is defined by doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. You seem not to grasp realpolitik as practiced by Democrats. Are you so naive as to think they can be influenced by mere constituents?
