The films, which are around 100,000 times thinner than a human hairColor me skeptical. A human hair is ~50 microns. 100Kx thinner would get you down into the atomic or even subatomic scale, I think.
50 microns = 50,000 nanometers. So 100Kx thinner would be .5 nm.
The diameter of a helium atom is .1 nm.

Also...
Just how durable would such a thin skin be? Whoever thinks an ultra think coating on anything is going to last any longer than a soldier or Marine infantryman sets foot into either a training event or a battle AO hasn’t ever been an infantryman.
