As an adolescent, I lived in Taiwan for two years when my Father was stationed there. We lived a skosh north of Taipei in the village of Shantzehou, Yangmingshan atop what was colloqiually known as Grass Mountain. Across the main road from us was the Naval Auxiliary Communications Commannd, a CIA front. The Gimo's summer residence was located a couple miles above us. Summer weekends the entire road from Taipei up to his digs was lined by soldiers at intervals of a few yards.
