Some folks in the foothills/mts outside of flatland CO have restored their road connection to the "outside" w/o gov't interference.
The Mexicans need to adopt exceptionalism and embrace personal responsibility.

Your statement reminds me of the different attitudes of folks after Katrina.
Mississippi suffered terrible damage, but Louisiana got all of the airplay/attention. Most of the LA folks sat and waited for the government to come "fix" things for them, while the people in MS got busy and started repairing their own homes, (tree limb removal on) roads, etc.

The first thing Mexico needs to do is adopt the rule of law and end the system and the culture of bribery(’’La Mordida’’). Don’t see why it should be so hard.
Aren’t we told how much Mexicans are hard-working, salt-of-the Earth types with solid family values? Now would be a good time for Mexicans to do what I always say they should do and put the freakin’ effort into fixing their country instead of screwing it up and running away from it and destroying ours.

The Mexicans need to adopt exceptionalism and embrace personal responsibility. Odd choice of words.
People in third-world countries fix local problems all the time (without the fancy language).
