FULL TITLE: Applebee's called police on family and threw them out of restaurant because their kids were 'too active'
A couple said they are 'heartbroken' after staff at Applebee's called police on them because their children were being too active, it emerged today.
Eli Gau and his wife Lillian Maliti admit their sons Ryan, three, and Ethan, one, can be a handful at times but nothing that would warrant being asked to leave a 'family-friendly' restaurant.
On Sunday night the family of four went to an Applebee's restaurant in Katy, Texas, for dinner.

Everything seemed normal until Ryan wandered away from the table, as children sometimes do.
Mr Gau told KHOU 11News: 'They're kind of active. They act like children. They're not adults.
'I went and grabbed him, and as I was grabbing him and coming back, the manager was walking to me.'

The mere threat from my parents of my butt being introduced to the business end of a belt was enough to keep me well behaved.
I don't know what kind of morons let their kids wander from the table but that kind of crap was never allowed in my family.
As soon as a person says the word disrespect all my sympathy goes away. Use of that word says a lot about attitudes and probable behaviour.

I grew up in late 1970s into early 1980s you got that right
Th only reasons that I can think of that would cause the restaurant to even consider getting the police involved:
1. Upon being asked to leave, they refused.
2. Upon being asked to leave, they decided not to pay for their meal. (Doubtful that they'd call for that reason, but possible.)
The article never states any reason for the restaurant calling the police.
The Amish disease.
people used to LIKE having children around...
Bingo. My spidey-senses went off the chart when I read that word. I instantly sided with the restaurant. The sloppy writing didn't help their case either.
Your money is better spent elsewhere.
But maybe I’ll give them one more shot after reading this story.
“;^)
Nothing is worse than spoiled unruly children with parents as enablers.
I slap people down every time I hear it. It's like "I axed him a question." That's ghetto lingo, and I won't tolerate it from anybody.
“disrespected”...Sheesh...now we really understand the problem, don’t we?
“I had to laugh when I saw the photo of this family. The kids can’t even stay still long enough to get their picture taken. Dad looks like he’s going to lose the youngest and is holding on for dear life.”
I did not notice till you pointed that out! Thanks for doing so, you are correct. I now wonder that Applebee’s had to put up with. Ma and Pa should have just gotten a sitter.
This isn't over. These ghetto-dwellers will be suing very soon.
Whenever we go out and I see well behaved kids, I always pass by the family’s table and give them an attaboy. Never have failed to receive a smile in return.
The concept of “being disrespected” is an excuse for violent, inappropriate (I repeat myself) behavior. That’s why I won’t tolerate it.
They showed up AT 9:15PM. Headline should read “Applebee’s called police on family one hour past what should have been their kids bedtime.”
“My very long term friend became my ex-friend when he got married to a romanian woman and had kids.”
Romanian? Was she a Gypsy?
I thought Applebee’s gave they them alcohol in a sipper cup.
