I regularly go through bacterial culture and sensitivity reports for blood, urine, and wound specimens. I’ve looked at thousands of these reports. I have yet to see a bug that couldn’t be killed by at least one of the common antibiotics. God help you if you’re allergic to that one however. As most of these bugs are found in the ER, it complicates killing them as the ER doesn’t have the ability to follow up as well as a private pratice office or a health department. These bugs are great at transferring their antibiotic resistance genes to other bugs so it’s a real problem when they’re out there in the community exchanging DNA. That’s how superbugs are created. Eventually, one of them will be resistant to everything.

Some notes:

1) The vast majority of cases so far are among blacks.

2) Chlamydia is still the most prevalent VD. Both it and gonorrhea can cause harm to a fetus.

3) Often gonorrhea can cause sterility in men and women.

4) Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) has an old nickname used in ER’s and hospitals: “Pink In Dere”.
