It seems like either a ‘51 or a ‘52.

It has split windshield,so it is not a ‘53, which had a one piece windshield.

I am very curious about the damage on the Camaro.

The front is not damaged, but the rear is horribly mangled. Impact with the water did not do that.

At the news source link, there are pictures of this same
Camaro in 1970.

16 year old driving a car with a lot of power?

I can see the car ending up going backwards during the crash sequence, if that’s what happened.

I was reading somewhere this morning that there had been an anonymous back then about the camaro being in the lake.makes you wonder if that’s why the back is damaged maybe someone witnessed something.
