12.04 (Precise) is LTS. I believe they’ll support through 2017. For an open source OS, that’s pretty amazing. I LOVE Ubuntu. Used to be a Fedora die hard, but I’ve since come around to Ubuntu. I was getting tired of the distro release schedule with Fedora.
OpenOS4 is okay, but I’ve read from some RHEL programmers that it’s a mess “under the hood.”
I suspected it might be, they seemed intent to make it “look” like Windows (no matter what?)
Yes, Ubuntu is pretty remarkable. And it has not kept them from working on different versions either.
