“The former university president Graham B. Spanier, the former athletic director Tim Curley and the former university vice president Gary Schultz are set to stand trial for their suspected roles in a cover-up of Sandusky’s actions.”

Spanier was hired by Penn State. Spanier was/is the epitimy of encouragement for the likes of Sandusky. Curley and Schultz, along with Paterno, did indeed provide cover for Sandusky. Penn State, though maybe not the individual profs and students, diserve the image that Penn State allowed to be created. Facts are facts. It is time for the ‘elitists’ at Penn State to recognize and own the consequences. As far as the football program, a 5 year death penalty would have been in order. The NCAA blew it there.

Did it ever dawn on you that MM told JVP, GS, and TC wayyyyy back in 2001 that he simply saw JS in a shower with a kid and he found it weird. The University told JS to stop bringing kids on campus (which he did), and reported the incident to his boss (the second mile).

10 years later, the OAG investigator approaches MM with tales of countless victims and all of the sudden, MM’s version of events suddenly changes. His new version still didn’t even approach the ridiculousness of the GJ Presentment (anal rape, etc.), but is certainly different than what he told JVP, GS, and TC.

If this (or something very close to this) did NOT happen, there is no explanation for one of TC, GS, or GS to not have flipped on the other(s). The prosecutor’s office has been trying forever to get that to happen, but it hasn’t. Frankly, they don’t have any evidence against them and I would be surprised if the trial even takes place.

Tim Curley has probably never gotten a parking ticket in his life. His reputation is impeccable. I don’t know Schultz or Spanier, but I find it hard to believe if they were told what YOU THINK they were told wayyy back in 2001, they wouldn’t have taken different actions.

It makes no sense. If they were going to “cover this up”, why didn’t they tell MM to keep his mouth shut? Why did they encourage him 10 years later to testify in front of the GJ? Why did all 3 of them volunteer to testify in front of the GJ? What sense does that make, if they were trying to cover something up? It makes none.

5 year death penalty? For breaking exactly what ncaa rules? Penn State has never had a major violation in any sport in the history of the school.

The ncaa is about to get hauled into court at the end of October over this. If that case gets to discovery, the jig is up for emmert, freeh, and the 11-11 b.o.t. as well as interim president erickson.
